Become A Foster Parent
Cold Wet Noses rescues dogs from Pima Animal Care Center. We rescue both healthy dogs and dogs with kennel cough. As a foster we get them in homes where they can get well if ill, we spay or neuter them, we get them up to date on all their shots and microchip them. We work on getting them to trust people again. Most of the animals at PACC are strays so they have never had that warm and cozy feeling of home, or they were abused in their current homes and brought into PACC. They learn socialization, basic commands and find their eventually forever home. We provide the meds if ill, all the cost for spay or neuter, and a crate if needed.
We have a Petfinder site, we go to PetSmart every Saturday to help get them adopted and of course we utilize Craigslist which has been a tremendous help. Some dogs find homes quickly while others take time. Being a foster takes full commitment from the foster parents to socialize, potty train (most come potty trained surprisingly enough) teach basic skills, and foster until they find permanent homes. The rewards are great when you do find them a home that is the perfect match. Again this is an urgent need and we so could use your help today.

By fostering rescue dogs in our homes, the fosters of Tucson Cold Wet Noses get to know each dog’s personality, likes, dislikes, and little quirks so you don't go home with a cat chaser if you have 10 cats at home, or an ankle biter if you babysit your grandchildren every day! Fostering our rescue dogs helps to ensure a successful adoption based on your lifestyle and situation. A successful adoption is a perfect match for both the new family and the dog. |
